The Servant Song
Brother, let me be your servant
Let me be as Christ to you
Pray that I may have the grace
To let you be my servant, too
We are pilgrims on a journey
Simple travelers on the road
We are here to help each other
Walk the mile and bear the load
I will hold the Christlight for you
In the night-time of your fear
I will hold my hand out to you
Speak the peace you long to hear
I will weep when you are weeping
When you laugh I'll laugh with you
I will share your joy and sorrow
Till we've seen this journey through
When we sing to God in heaven
We shall find such harmony
Born of all we've known together
Of Christ's love and agony
Brother, let me be your servant
Let me be as Christ to you
Pray that I may have the grace
To let you be my servant, too
Welcome to our (Camden and Mallory's)blog! We began our first post like this because it is this song that inspired our idea for our blog. We are indeed on a journey with me (mal) just graduating this past December, Camden graduating this month, getting married next month and moving to who-knows-where quickly after the wedding! (we're moving for Camden to go to seminary in either Chicago or Louisville) sooooo...as we've experienced in the past couple of months, it is easy to become overwhelmed with decisions or with having to be patient, etc. but we have had to keep in mind that the Lord has us on this incredible journey and it is exciting to see God unfold His will for our lives in His due time.
Our desire for this blog is to
1. Allow friends and fam to keep up with us and us with them as we move possibly across the country.(kinda getting tired of facebook)
2. Share our hearts while on this wild journey. We want to allow what we're experiencing to uplift those around us (even if you're not physically around us!)
3. Enjoy looking back on an online journal of how our new lives together unfolded!!
So as for an update on the journey right now: we're awaiting a call from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Chicago, telling us if Camden is a recipient of a full-ride scholarship. Right now, he is one of 18 finalists for it...half will receive it. We're praying(and hope you will too) that we get that but only if it's God's will for us. If we don't get it, we'll know that He wants us elsewhere. God has been so good to provide several options for us: Southern Seminary is a definite possibility while a school district in the Springfield area is interested in me for teaching...we're thankful for options...but we're very ready to know where He wants us to begin our married life together!
Hopefully updates will be coming soon!
